Error on startup

Has anyone else gotten the following, two-part error when trying to start the game?

Part 1: After launching the .exe and pressing "START", a white dialog box appears with strange characters. The only readable text is TFormMain ..... FMProtect....... This does not crash the game and clicking "OK" will take you further in.

Part 2: After logging in, from the game selection screen, after about 15 seconds another dialog appears saying "FM.exe has been terminated due to the failure of the protector. This last dialog crashes the game.
